From Dawn to Twilight: The Perfect Way to Tea
What is the logic behind our Tasty Teas? At Mes Thés, every Tea is thoroughly researched, tasted and tested.
If it is in a container with our name on it, there is a reason!
Morning Herbs
For those of us that are a little bit slow risers in the morning, it’s nice to be able to reach for something to make us feel energized and get things flowing. One way you can start your morning is with a Herbal stimulate, bitters and adaptogenic herbs (adaptogen are non-toxic plants that can help the body resist stressors of all kinds, whether physical, chemical or biological).
Add an herbal tea to your routine that contains Gentian root. This vibrant herb helps improve digestion, liver and gallbladder function. It is a great way to get things moving in the morning. Pure Cranberry juice is a great addition for tea, having healthy benefits for the urinary tract, digestive and cardiovascular systems. I like adding it to my tea in the morning with a little ice.
If you’re still eager for an energizing pick-me-up, try sipping on a green or black tea. You will feel a little more alert with this natural touch of caffeine. Adding in an adaptogenic, such as Ginger and Goji Berry, can boost endurance, mental performance, encourage calmness and a sense of well-being.
Mealtime Herbal Teas
If you love a big lunch or are simply trying to avoid the post-meal crash, digestive herbs are the perfect mid-day companion. Treat yourself by adding a nice warm cup or cold glass of tea with Thyme or Rosemary. When you’re feeling a little too full post-lunch tea with Thyme will help neutralize the digestive system and improve a distressed tummy by toning-down bloat and gas. Adding Rosemary to your tea not only will aid in digestion but it is bursting with antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory compounds, that may help lower your blood sugar. Combining these tasty herbs with your meal will help you feel more energetic and invigorated.
Afternoon Teas
In the afternoon when your looking for a pick me up, instead of reaching for candy or chips, show some love to your immune system. Sip on some herbs that are packed with Antioxidants. Herbal teas provide great support for daily maintenance. Try a cup of Hibiscus tea. This can be a tasty alternative to sugary sodas and juice. It helps to promote and correct mitochondrial function which helps keep your energy levels steady. Another delicious herb that makes an excellent tea is Rosehip. Rosehip is full of Vitamin C and helps increase nerve strength and fight off fatigue. Nature offers so many healthy tasty herbs, fruits and flowers to choose from.
Evening Herbal Teas
I also have my go too herbal teas, that help me settle down after a demanding day and rest peacefully through the night. Chamomile is definitely one of the most comforting herbs. Chamomile smooths the edges off my busy day. When I drink chamomile tea, I wake up feeling refreshed and rested. Who doesn’t relax with a flower in your cup. Add a dash of Saffron and I am all set. Saffron is a powerful spice, high in antioxidants. It has been linked to health benefits, such as improved mood (improves symptoms of depression), libido, as well as helps reduce PMS symptoms and enhance weight loss.
If you are feeling a little weary or a bit anxious sip on a little Lemongrass tea. Lemongrass is thought to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. And say hello to another alternative to counting sheep, Tulsi (Holy Basil). Tulsi is an adaptogenic herb, which helps adapt the body to stress and boost energy, calm the nervous system, relieve anxiety and insomnia.
